Dear customers, friends and neighbours,

 

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Algonquin Café and Deli on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

Despite our best efforts, the challenges posed by current economic conditions, tariffs, and rising costs have made it financially impossible to continue operations. Unfortunately, many people increasingly prefer fast-food options over homemade, hearty meals, and this shift—along with the influx of new fast-food outlets—meant we were unable to attract and retain enough customers to remain viable.

After careful consideration, our parent company, 2556497 Ontario Ltd., has made the difficult decision to close all operations of the Algonquin Café and Deli at the end of the month.

It has been our pleasure to serve this community and to support local charities and organizations over the years. We extend our deepest thanks to our employees and volunteers, who were invaluable in serving those most in need during our Christmas community dinners.

Thank you for your support and loyalty. We are grateful for the memories and relationships we’ve built here.
